Sacred Heart of Jesus, teach me perfect forgetfulness of self, since that is the only way by which one can find entrance into Thee. Grant that I may do nothing unworthy of Thee. Teach me what I must do to arrive at the purity of Thy love, which Thou hast inspired me to desire.
I feel in myself a great desire to please Thee and at the same time a great powerlessness to succeed in doing so, without great light and a very special help which I can expect only from Thee.
Lord, do Thou accomplish Thy will in me; I know well that I oppose it, but I dearly wish, I think, not to oppose it. It is for Thee to do everything, O Divine Heart of Jesus Christ. Thou alone wilt have all the glory of my sanctification if I become a saint. That seems clearer to me than the daylight, but for Thee it will be a glory, and it is for that reason alone that I wish to attain perfection. Amen.
